The ISPM no. 15 standard for preventing the importation of wood pests has been ratified by almost every country in the world. Notwithstanding this, every country has interpreted the standard in its own way. The Chinese customs authorities often require, for example, a \u201cPacking Declaration\u201d, although according to the standard this is no longer necessary.<\/p>\n

We too have our own interpretation of the ISPM No. 15 standard, based on our \u201cZaugg Swiss Quality\u201d<\/a> benchmark . Although the standard requires that the raw wood used for packaging be dried for only 30 minutes at a core temperature of 56\u00b0 Celsius, we require very different values \u200b\u200bfrom our wood suppliers, and are only satisfied if our Swiss wood is dried until it has only 18%-22% moisture content.<\/p>\n

The rules in Oceania and Australia are even stricter, with raw wood that is used as packaging for goods here also having to be treated for Syrex wasps and specially documented.<\/p>\n
